For the past five weeks, second graders in Room 307 have
been learning all about energy! They have been working with
Mr. Tripp, our guest science teacher, to conduct experiments
and make observations related to energy in our world and
energy conservation in our environment. Second graders have
studied how coal was formed and created a hands on example
using playdough and sandpaper. Then, they also discovered
how coal is now a limited resource in our earth by collecting
beans in the classroom and realizing that the resource is
finite! Then, they conducted experiments with solar panels
and wind energy to see how these technologies work! For
their last week, students will be invited to the Cambridge
district challenge of energy conservation in our schools. A big
thank you to Mr. Tripp for working with Room 307!
