On September 28, 2016 me and my class, with Mrs. Martin went to the Maynard Ecology Center in Fresh Pond. To get there we all took a bus and the bus was buzzing with excitement. When we finally got there we met Ms. Agger a teacher at the Maynard Ecology Center. When we were all unpacked and ready to start the day we had a lesson by Ms. Agger in the classroom. The lesson was mostly a review because Coach evan had taught us most of the science including, weathering, erosion, and deposition. He taught us that weathering was the process of breaking down earth’s surface with water or wind, erosion was the process of moving the weathered things around with water or wind, and deposition was the process of keeping the weathered and eroded things in place with water or wind.

The first activity of the day that we did was that we had to walk around Fresh Pond and looked for clues of weathering, erosion, and deposition. The first clue was of a plant that was growing in the sidewalk and Ms. Agger put pieces of string around it and we were give in a worksheet and Ms. Agger told us to write what the clues were and if a plant that was growing in the sidewalk was weathering, erosion, and deposition.

The first place that Ms. Agger found was a plant growing in the sidewalk and trying to break it apart. Ms. Agger put a string around it so it would be easy to see ad we would not be looking for it too much. The second clue was of erosion and it was near the natural pond where the water was taking away the soil from the water back.

When we got back to the classroom we got to use one of the stream table models with our group and each group had a variable that we had to show with the stream table. My group was Jayden, Sateyesh and Yndian. We had to pick one topic out of water, sand, and soil and write a question about it. We were the independent group that worked without a teacher. Our question was if we pour water on gravel will it move? So we did and the gravel did not move.

We then got on the bus and headed back to school. Overall, I thought that the field trip was awesome and exciting.
