Peace Project

Share LoveAs part of an ongoing Peace Project that included a Peace Gathering and discussion around current events, the second and third graders at Fletcher Maynard Academy spent Friday, February 12th handing out the Kindness Kits they put together thanks to generous donations from the school community and Food for Free. Each kit contained an inspirational note, hat, gloves, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, hand sanitizer, apple, and an orange. Despite the cold, all three classes had a wonderful time interacting with the community and helping “share the love” with those in need. They were able to distribute about 180 kits in just three hours!! Even those who didn’t need the kits were happy to take one with them to share with someone they felt needed it, which helped the students continue spreading their message of peace. You can also check out media coverage of the day by clicking here and here. Ms. Waddell, Ms. Leonard, and Ms. Sullivan are incredibly proud of their young peacemakers and grateful that the FMA community has bonded together to help them share their message with the world!
