It's a big week in the world of educational technology as we celebrate Computer
Science Education Week! At the Fletcher Maynard Academy, we have the luxury
of observing an entire "Month of Coding," as we focus on activities that promote
computational thinking, computer programming, and coding during tech classes
(grades 1-5) throughout the month of December.
We live in a world dependent on technology and we know that in whatever field
our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly
hinge on an understanding of how technology works. By participating in this
"Month of Code," it is my hope that our students will develop an interest in what's
under the hood of the technology we use, and that we will be sparking their
imaginations as they begin to devise what technology will bring us in the future.

activities with your family!
Best wishes,
Kevin McGonegal
