Mosaic Masterpieces
Posted on 06/11/2019
Our FMA students worked with their art teacher Lolly Lincoln and local artist David Fichter to create two mosaics during the month of December! Student sketches were converted to murals that are formed by thousands of glass, ceramic, and mirrored tiles – each one hand-cut and placed by FMA students. Every student in the school had a hand in the final work. In April when the weather warmed enough for the cement to set, Fichter installed the two murals on either side of the entrance to the school. It is now a permanent part of the architecture of the school and can be seen at the corner of Windsor Street and Broadway. Many thanks to David for sharing his time and talents!
Here are some photos, but we hope you'll come by to take a look at our masterpieces in person!
