Happy Friday FMA,
Did you know Black History Month was started by Carter G. Woodson as Negro History Week on Feb. 7th, 1926? He made the famed quote above which highlights the power of perseverance and a growth mindset. Children will rise and fall to our expectations, so aim high! Educators have the power to change the world one child at a time by molding young minds and instilling a sense of pride, belonging, and a positive self-concept. Let us embrace this responsibility with great humility and a deep commitment to model a growth mindset for every scholar.
- Word of the Week: Resilience - the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties
- SEL Skill of the Month: Problem-Solving - (1) Say the problem; (2) Think of solutions; (3) Explore consequences; (4) Pick the best solution.
