Update from Maisha Rounds: December 10, 2021

Dear FMA families,

Are you happy? My challenge to you this holiday season is to find your happy place. In your mind, try to visit your happy place every day, even if only for a few minutes. Happiness is contagious! When you are happy, the people around you become happier. A Harvard study found that happy people have more fulfilling relationships and lead healthier, more productive, and longer lives. Not only do you benefit, but so does everyone else around you!

• Word of the Week: Happiness - an emotional state characterized by positive feelings of joy, contentment, fulfillment, and satisfaction with life (Share the Minions’ version of Pharrell's song, "Happy" with your scholar!)

Celebrations and Shout Outs

• Kudos to Elon Fyfield who won the NCAA ABCA National Diversity award for coaches affiliated with volleyball! This is a huge honor and his national recognition is well-deserved. He will be attending the related conference next week. Be sure to congratulate him whenever you see him!
  
• "I would like to shout out Brittany Williams for demonstrating student focus by putting in the extra time and effort to hold one of our scholars accountable for their own learning!" - Mr. Ventresca, 5th grade teacher
