Intramural Basketball Championship Game

On Friday, February 2nd, we had our Championship Game for Season 1 of Intramural Basketball. The gym was packed with students, staff and families and the noise and energy was off the charts! With posters created for each team by our 5th grade students along with our Art Teacher Ms. Ellie setting the stage, our 2 finalists entered the gym to a thunderous applause. The event kicked off with Ms. Lilly and her students singing the National Anthem for us before the game, they were amazing! The game was incredible and every scholar athlete played with so much passion and energy! Between 3’s from Judeley and Mekhi and a first half buzzer beater by Palmilerin and a halftime unveiling of our new Championship Banner by last year's 5th graders the drama was through the roof! In the end, The Dragons were able to hold on for the victory and the Championship, our second place team Mucho Mango played incredibly and we are so proud of them! Congratulations to The Dragons on a well deserved Championship, Azriela, Makbel, Palmilerin, Jayceon, Lorenzo and Mekhi, you all played as a team and showed the whole school how beautiful the game can be when you work together and try your hardest!
Mr. V and I are so proud of everyone who played this season, you all improved so much and we can’t wait to get Season 2 started in March!
