Students in Room 108 and 109 have been studying Light and Shadows in Science. They have identified different types of light sources, explored how light interacts with different materials, and observed and created shadows using their hands and objects.
For their final project of the Light and Shadows unit, students created their own shadow puppets based on characters in a variety of short plays. These puppets included a number of cute animals and even a few plants! They then wrote "How to" books to share their puppet-making tips with readers.
Finally, with the help of a sheet and a desk lamp, students were able to use their puppets to bring each play to life in a culminating shadow puppet performance. It was such a treat to see the puppets finally come to life!
