CitySprouts Garden

PlantersThe Fletcher Maynard Academy school garden is located alongside the school on Windsor Street. Stretching over 70 feet in length, the garden features a series of planters for growing vegetables and flowers. The space also includes a shed and a composter to support year-round learning. A renovation to improve and refresh the garden is planned for this fall.

Garden shedCitySprouts is a school garden program founded on the belief that all children should have the chance to explore science through hands-on, real-world experiences from an early age. By observing, experimenting, and discovering in the garden, students build a strong foundation in science learning and curiosity about the natural world.

A CitySprouts Garden Educator visits the Fletcher Maynard School every other week throughout the year. Garden Educators partner with the classroom teacher to engage students in investigations and projects.

CitySprouts also offers volunteer opportunities in the garden year-round. If you’d like to get involved, please email [email protected].
