Grade 1 kicked off the school year by reading Our Class is a Family by Shannon Olsen
After reading, we had a whole group discussion about what makes a good family and what we can do, within our classroom, to become a good family. Students were then asked to write their thoughts on a sticky note, and one by one we posted it on a poster board. Their answers were EVERYTHING, a true reflection of their upbringing: being present, respect, being kind, helping each other, sharing, kindness, and so much more. Our poster board is displayed in front of Room 109!
